Synopsis

16th Century French monk and writer François Rabelais said, “He who can have patience, can compass anything.”

Back then, the word “compass” wasn’t just used as a noun (a tool to help you find where you’re going), “compass” was also used as a verb (meaning “to get around”).

Therefore, Rabelais saying “If you have patience you can get around anything.”
