One of the things I love about speaking in Indianapolis, IN is going to the Rhythm! Discovery Center in downtown, which is an interactive museum about drums and drumming.
There behind glass, you’ll get to see one of the actual drums played to inspire Napoleon’s troops forward in battle.
Did you know that Napoleon’s drummers were taught only the march forward drum pattern and were never taught how to signal a retreat.
Why? Because “retreat” was not in Napoleon’s vernacular.
